About the job

As a case officer in the Social Development Unit, you will work operationally with the management of support for SRHR initiatives and carry out a range of different tasks that need to be handled within the unit. The operations include support to international organizations and activities in several countries. You will also participate in the unit's learning and method development. The Social Development Unit has 15 employees who work to implement initiatives within the framework of Sida's global support for gender equality, health, and SRHR, as well as education. The unit is part of the Global Department, which conducts development cooperation focused on global or thematic priorities with partners consisting of multilateral organizations, civil society organizations, government agencies, research institutions, and the private sector.

Responsibilities

  • Manage initiatives including application assessment, follow-up of results reporting, and dialogue with partners.
  • Utilize relevant methods and approaches for results management, capacity development, and aid effectiveness.
  • Contribute to communication with other units and departments within Sida as well as with cooperation and dialogue partners such as other government agencies, civil society organizations, and representatives of stakeholder groups.
  • Support the work with a variety of tasks within the unit and department.

Qualifications

Education

  • Academic degree or equivalent academic education or other training deemed relevant by the employer.

Language

  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Work experience and knowledge

  • Several years of documented experience in international development cooperation.
  • Documented experience in managing initiatives within development cooperation, including work with budgets, financial reporting, and auditing.
  • Experience working with sexual and reproductive health and rights in development cooperation.

For this role, you need to:

  • Be able to lead yourself and take responsibility for your own development.
  • Be good at collaborating and building trusting relationships.
  • Have the ability to translate ideas into concrete actions.
  • Have the ability to engage in dialogue and create consensus.
  • Be able to contribute to and absorb knowledge and evidence.

It is advantageous if you have

  • Experience in managing initiatives in Sida’s systems.
  • Experience working with civil society organizations in the SRHR field.
  • Experience with innovative initiatives and resource mobilization in development cooperation.
  • Experience working with broader health issues and health systems in development contexts.

Good to know

The position is a temporary appointment until further notice, but no later than August 2026. Start date February 2026.

Sida offers the possibility of remote work to some extent if it works for the operations.
